Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Chinese Tea Brewing (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, retains, and shares information when you visit chineseteabrewing.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Data Controller

The data controller for this Site is the operator of chineseteabrewing.com. You can reach us at jingshuicc@gmail.com for any privacy-related request, including access, correction, or deletion of your data.

2. Information We Collect

  • Automatically collected data: when you visit the Site, we (or our analytics providers) automatically log your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and the date/time of your visit.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files stored on your device that help the Site function, remember preferences, and measure traffic. See the Cookies section below for details.
  • Contact information: if you email us, we receive whatever information you choose to share in that message (name, email address, message body, any attachments).

3. Cookies We Use

We use cookies in three categories:

  • Essential cookies — required for the Site to function (for example, your reading preferences, security tokens, or session state). The Site cannot operate without these.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics (Measurement ID G-6TFYBCYP95) to count visits, understand navigation patterns, and improve content. These cookies do not identify you personally.
  • Advertising cookies — set by advertising partners (including Google AdSense, if enabled) to deliver ads, limit how often you see an ad, and measure ad performance. These may use the DoubleClick cookie and similar identifiers.

You can control cookies through your browser settings (see Opt-Out below).

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can prioritize content and fix problems.
  • Respond to your emails and inquiries.
  • Display advertising (if and when ads are enabled) and measure ad performance.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain different categories of data for different periods, in line with the principle of storage limitation (GDPR Art. 5(1)(e)):

  • Server logs and analytics data: retained for up to 26 months, then aggregated or deleted.
  • Email correspondence: retained for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable backup period (typically up to 24 months), then deleted.
  • Advertising data: retention is governed by the relevant ad partner (see Third Parties below).

You may request earlier deletion under Your Rights.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Restriction or objection — ask us to limit or stop processing your data in certain cases.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR): the lawful bases we rely on are legitimate interest (site operation, analytics) and consent (non-essential cookies and advertising).

For visitors in California, United States (CCPA / CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at jingshuicc@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

7. Third-Party Services

The Site uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics 4 (analytics) — privacy policy · how Google uses data
  • Google AdSense (advertising, if and when activated) — privacy & cookies
  • IndexNow (URL submission) — privacy policy
  • Affiliate programs (e.g., Amazon Associates) — when you click an outbound affiliate link, the merchant’s privacy policy applies from that point on.

8. International Data Transfers

The Site is operated from servers and infrastructure located in multiple regions. When you visit the Site from outside the country where our servers are located, your information will be transferred across borders to be processed. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (SCCs) — or other lawful transfer mechanisms — to protect your data when it is processed by our service providers outside your jurisdiction.

9. Opt-Out and Tracking Controls

You can limit or disable the cookies and trackers we use through several mechanisms:

  • Google Ads Settings: opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.
  • Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): opt out of interest-based advertising at optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): opt out at optout.aboutads.info.
  • Do Not Track (DNT): if your browser sends a DNT signal, we treat it as an opt-out for non-essential cookies where technically feasible.
  • Browser settings: most modern browsers let you block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or delete cookies on close. See your browser’s help documentation.

10. Advertising & Google AdSense

We may use Google AdSense to display ads on the Site. AdSense uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Standard ad delivery is unaffected if you opt out of personalization.

11. Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this Site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We may participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate programs. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial recommendations; we only link to products we genuinely recommend.

12. Third-Party Links

The Site contains links to third-party websites (tea vendors, teaware sellers, reference materials). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review each site’s privacy policy before submitting personal information.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR, where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at jingshuicc@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site’s home page for at least 14 days before they take effect.

If you visit the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies for this Site, which will cause the consent prompt to reappear on your next visit. We do not currently use a paid consent management platform; the consent prompt is a lightweight first-party banner.

16. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise your rights, or need to lodge a complaint, please contact us at jingshuicc@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
